Some new design ideas for the website –

I made my sitar playing debut along with 70 other students at Convocation Hall in Edmonton this week. Our sitar group performed Raga Bhopali together, and we made lots of new friends! There were also tabla, harmonium and vocal performances in Rajasthani, Devotional and Qawwali styles. We had a lot of fun preparing, rehearsing, performing and eating together…thanks to all of the tutors at Indian Music Academy for all of their hard work, and to the University for hosting us!
We’re putting the final touches to our sitar recital on Sunday at Convocation Hall. 3pm start – Admission by donation

Thank you to Chateau Mission Seniors Home for hosting us for the last time this evening…They gave us a thank you card signed by all the residents and a very generous cheque for our Polaris autistic and aspergers Scouts fund! Thanks again to our wonderful musical volunteers… #stalbertmusic #bluegrassbreaks
Five years ago today we sold or gave away everything we owned…our house, cars, furniture, cutlery and crockery, left our jobs in the schools and colleges in Scotland, and moved 4000 miles across the world to start a new life! I have learned that people are the same everywhere, for better or worse. I’ve learned that I’m the same person no matter where in the world I live. I’ve also learned that Canadians are generally very kind and welcoming of immigrants like myself, and I’m humbled by the warm welcome I have received in my time here. Every day has been an adventure! Thank you
Here’s a toast to this beautiful nation, and her continued prosperity…Slainte!
Our guitar duet played for the guests at the ALPHA course dinner tonight at West Edmonton Christian Assembly…Thanks to Steve Simpson for his accompaniment. #weareweca
We had a great day of making music today! We played for community events in St Albert with Alberta Rose this afternoon, and in Bon Accord with Bluegrass Breaks this evening…
