Five years ago today we sold or gave away everything we owned…our house, cars, furniture, cutlery and crockery, left our jobs in the schools and colleges in Scotland, and moved 4000 miles across the world to start a new life! I have learned that people are the same everywhere, for better or worse. I’ve learned that I’m the same person no matter where in the world I live. I’ve also learned that Canadians are generally very kind and welcoming of immigrants like myself, and I’m humbled by the warm welcome I have received in my time here. Every day has been an adventure!
