The TrebleBusters were delighted to return to one of our favorite gigs, in Athabasca’s Grand Union Hotel. We must have made a good impression, as they booked us for New Years Eve!
Monday 25th August – Bluegrass Breaks at Youville Seniors Home
We brought two of the St Albert Music Instruction students out to play with the band tonight…Ethan Ferro and Sue Languedoc did a great job, along with our core group of musicians…thanks to Youville Home for the invitation!

We played for the residents of Strathcona senior home this week…Dave Ferro, our banjo player/singer was on holiday, but we were delighted to feature special guest Steve Simpson on vocals and guitar for the evening!
Karate Black Belt certificate
As the new teaching semester begins this week, I finally got around to framing my karate black belt certificate from Okinawa. I put it on the wall of my teaching studio to encourage the students I teach that anything is attainable, with effort and perseverance! 
Tuesday 5th August – Chateau Mission Home
On Tuesday, Bluegrass Breaks played for the seniors at St Albert’s Chateau Mission Home…We were delighted to have a few musical guests with us, and Chateau Mission gave us a very generous donation to our Stollery Childrens Hospital fund! Dave brought his 1976 Lincoln Continental for a band photo shoot…
Brewbakers Pub, Fort McMurray – August 1st and 2nd
Our folk-rock group, the TrebleBusters, played in Fort McMurray at BrewBakers Pub this weekend…Ed, the viola player, came in on Saturday night and jammed with the band. He fitted right in to our sound…
We had a good crowd reception, and have been invited back in December!

Our community group, Bluegrass Breaks, entertained the seniors at Jasper Place in Edmonton on Monday evening…We were delighted to be joined by special guests Ed Grant on guitar and Dustin Friesen on percussion!

The TrebleBusters played our first music festival on Canada Day at River Rats in Athabasca. The Festival line-up included a number of great bands, including Big Sugar, Unwed Mothers and Tupelo Honey…We had a blast!
St Albert Music Instruction Student of the Year 2014
Congratulations to guitar player Jacob Kryger, our student of the year for 2014! He worked really hard this year, and made some great progress… Both Jacob and 2013’s winner Jaden Schultz play regularly with Bluegrass Breaks, our community serving group.
