Dave and I played in Westlock as a duo tonight as Bluegrass Breaks. We switched up instruments and both sang to keep the set interesting, and we even accompanied the residents in some karaoke. This lady put down her stick and danced a charleston, and sang “Five foot two, eyes of blue” and “This little light of mine” with us. Thanks to Pembina Lodge for the VERY generous donation towards our 2015 charity, Polaris Scout Group. Children with neurological disorders such as autism and aspergers will benefit thanks to your kindness…

Our community group, Bluegrass Breaks, played for the residents of St Michaels in Edmonton…We had Ukrainian fiddle music, waltzes, a ukulele set and the usual bluegrass and country fare, and a lot of dancing seniors! Thank you to the band as always, and for the very generous donation from the staff at St Michaels to our 2015 charity, Polaris Scout Group Edmonton, which works with kids with neurological difficulties such as autism and aspergers syndrome. We’re looking forward to going back to visit again soon!

I hosted the first ukulele jam session of 2015 with a small group of friends and students today. We adjourned in 2013, and decided to re-start the group this month…We had a beautiful spring day for it!

Our events group, Alberta Rose, played a rock n’ roll set and a ukulele set at Churchill Manor for the seniors monthly “Around the World” food and culture day this week…

Our bluegrass group’s monthly concerts at West Edmonton Christian Assembly have come to the end of their season, but our band are as busy as ever…We’re booked into December! Check out

I started taking a sitar class at Edmonton’s Indian Music Academy this evening…The sitar is a really fun instrument to play! Lots of strings and tunings…

Our community group, Bluegrass Breaks, played this evening for the seniors at Youville Seniors Home in St Albert. I played double bass, mandolin, guitar and ukulele and we changed the set up a bit with Scots, Irish, Country, Bluegrass and Gospel songs! A fun evening…

I played with the Matt Day band over the weekend for Dr jim Richards Conference, “Embracing the Light” at Edmonton’s Radisson Hotel. Great venue, great speakers and a fantastic band to play with!

We played as a small group at Taylor Seminary, for the Jubileers Anniversary event on Friday morning. We were delighted to be joined by Dr Aaron Au of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra on violin!

We played an Irish set for the seniors at Lewis Estates Retirement Home this evening…great craic!
